Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2025
Plain English Summary
- We do store your data — your prompts and AI outputs are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure to provide the service. We do not claim "never stored" because that would be dishonest.
- We do not sell your personal data — we have no ad business and no reason to sell your information.
- We use third-party AI providers (Google, Cloudflare, Groq, Z.ai, Hugging Face) to process your prompts. We do not control how these providers handle data on their end. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information.
- We apply reasonable security — but no system is perfectly secure. We are honest about this limitation.
1. Introduction
Recentech Studio provides AI-powered tools for research, writing and visualizations. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy. We wrote this policy to be as clear and honest as possible about how your data is handled.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate our services:
Account Information
Name and email (via Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth, or email OTP via Resend). We only receive the basic identity data required for authentication.
Usage Data
Prompts, generated content, chat history, and interactions. This data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (including Cloudflare Workers and databases) and may also be stored as backups in external or secondary storage systems. This data is necessary for the tools to function — for example, your chat history is stored so you can revisit previous conversations.
Communication Data
Emails sent to support (recentechstudio@gmail.com).
3. Data Storage & Processing
Your data is stored, processed, and backed up across multiple systems and locations. This includes Cloudflare services and additional backup infrastructure. We replicate and store data as needed for reliability, security, and operational purposes. We want to be transparent: your data does exist on our servers, and we take reasonable steps to protect it.
4. Registration Methods
We support: Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth, and Email OTP via Resend. We only receive basic identity data (name and email) required for authentication. We do not access your contacts, calendars, or other account data from these providers.
5. Use of Information
We use your data to:
- Operate and improve our services
- Manage your account and preferences
- Provide AI features and store your results
- Communicate with you about your account or service changes
- Monitor usage patterns to prevent abuse and ensure fair use
We do not sell personal data. We have no advertising business and no financial incentive to share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. AI Providers & Data Responsibility
We use third-party AI providers to generate results for your requests:
- Google AI services (Gemini) — for advanced AI capabilities
- Cloudflare Workers AI — for Llama model processing
- Groq — for ultra-fast LPU inference
- Z.ai (GLM) — for additional AI model coverage
- Hugging Face — for open-source model processing
Important — please read carefully:
- Your prompts are sent to these AI providers to generate results — this is how the tools work
- We do not control how these providers process or store your data on their end
- We recommend not submitting sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, health data) to any AI tool
- You are responsible for the data you choose to submit
Provider Selection: We select AI providers to balance quality, speed, and cost. We may change providers, add new ones, or adjust routing at any time to improve service. During beta, all providers are available to all users at no cost.
7. No Responsibility for Third Parties
We are not responsible for: changes in third-party privacy policies, data usage by AI providers, or practices of external services including OAuth providers (Google, GitHub) and email services (Resend). We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as necessary for:
- Service operation (your chat history, tool results, etc.)
- Legal compliance requirements
- Internal analysis and service improvement
We may retain backups even after deletion requests where required for system integrity or legal obligations. We make good-faith efforts to honor deletion requests, but backup systems may temporarily retain data.
9. Data Security
We apply reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls on Cloudflare infrastructure. However, we want to be honest: no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. We recommend using strong passwords and not sharing sensitive information through any AI tool.
10. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Update your account information
To exercise these rights, contact us at recentechstudio@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Some requests may be limited based on technical, legal, or operational constraints — if so, we will explain why.
11. Children's Privacy
Recentech Studio is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. When we make changes:
- Changes take effect immediately upon publication
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (e.g., via email or in-app notice)
- Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance
